Break the Bias at Workplace- Turn it into Gender Neutral
This International Women’s Day, the UN decided to break the bias with their intended theme. Many organisations launched campaigns to promote gender neutrality workplace, showcasing how they put their efforts to be unbiased work environment and much more. From big giants to startups, everybody took the agenda seriously and support it as per their capacities.
We also published blogs, exciting videos, and a week-long campaign and conducted a special session on women's power in our organisation. Going in the same direction and continuing efforts, let us give you some tips to practice in your day-to-day life and break the bias:
- Encourage fathers in your organisation to bring their children to the office and use the creche facility offered by you
- Equal opportunities for equal skills and equal pay must be your motto to support both women and men in your workplace
- Offer paternity leaves to genuinely showcase that you don't only support working moms but working dads too
- Ensure your female employees, both married and single, are safe on office trips and any misbehaviour will not be appreciated
- Hire newly married women, new moms and other women facing challenges in their lives if you feel they are fit for your organisation
- Balance your efforts to make women feel special with the efforts so that men do not feel that they are sidelined or hardly get any attention
- Offer shuttle service, free autos from the metro and other travel allowances that can encourage female employees to come office
Conduct employee surveys to know what they feel about gender biasness and how they can proactively participate in breaking the bias and supporting their female colleagues. Their valuable suggestions, feedback and real-time experience can help you more in better strategy-making with a pragmatic approach.
